The hike up is mostly easy, but there’s a section where ropes help you climb up a wall to get to the top.

One thing Brazil’s Jalapão region is famous for is its breathtaking sunsets. On this first day, you won’t want to miss the golden hues that light up the dunes. We’ll drive a short distance to the start of our walk to Cathedral Hill. It’s a 4.5 km trek that offers both climbing and walking, and it can be a bit challenging. The hill gets its name from its stunning cathedral-like appearance.

To wrap up the first day of our Jalapão Brazil Tour, we’ll head back to São Félix for a delicious dinner and some well-deserved rest. Trust us, you’ll want to recharge because the beauty and adventure that Jalapão in Brazil has to offer are just getting started!

Embark on an exhilarating second day in the heart of Jalapão, Brazil, where two distinct itineraries await you, each perfectly aligned with the season’s offerings:

Regular Season:
From January 07th until April 14th and October 27th to December 30th.

Start your day with a hearty local breakfast before heading out at 6:30 AM. We’ll hop into 4×4 vehicles to venture into Jalapão’s untouched lands. The highlight of the morning is an 11 km, 6-hour trail leading to the Boa Esperança Community in Mateiros city. This is an off-the-beaten-path location in Brazil, where your visit helps support the local community.

By afternoon, we’ll check into Glamping Refúgio Coração do Jalapão. Here, you’ll stay in simple bungalows with balconies. After lunch, the afternoon is yours to choose from optional activities. You can either take part in an exhilarating 10km rafting trip on the Soninho River, indulge in tranquil kayaking along its waters, or relax in the Glamping’s exclusive Fervedouro. Please note that all activities except rafting are included in your package.

Dry Season:
April 21st and October 20th

We’ll embark on an exciting and challenging journey in the Jalapão, starting at 6am with a trek along the Velha Crossing. This 12km walk will take us through clean fields and footpaths to the magnificent Cachoeira da Velha, where we will have the opportunity to see the waterfall from a unique angle, from inside the park. After the hike, we deserve a rest and there’s nothing better than a relaxing picnic on one of the small beaches along the Rio Novo. At the end of the day, we’ll drive to São Félix, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.

In the afternoon, the adventure continues with an exciting 2-hour rafting trip on Class IV rapids. This is an incredible opportunity to experience the thrill of paddling the waters of the Jalapão, while exploring several charming little beaches along Brazil’s largest river of clean, drinkable water. After rafting, we’ll continue on a 4km hike, enjoying a beautiful sunset over the Brazilian Cerrado, arriving at 6pm.

Start your day early on this Jalapão Brazil Tour, waking up at 4 AM to climb the Espírito Santo Mountain Range. We’ll go up 200 meters and walk another 600 meters to catch a jaw-dropping sunrise in Brazil. After that, we’ll hike 3 km more to reach the mountain’s peak and marvel at the stunning erosion patterns.

Next, we’ll carefully hike 7 km down the mountain to reach Jalapão’s famous golden dunes. These orange-gold sands, set against a backdrop of mountains and springs, are a highlight of this great adventure.

After grabbing a quick snack, we’ll relax at Pixico Beach, a river beach, until it’s time for lunch at Mr. Adélio’s Restaurant Curicaca. Here, you’ll taste traditional Jalapão cuisine.
